  1. Paulette Wickert says:

A puppy any day. With a pup you get puppy breath, unconditional love and loyalty ! With a firefighter you get work shifts of 24 on 24 off, try cleaning the house when there off. Married to a retired firefighter, and that old saying that firefighter’s do it hotter and get the job done is a crock of beans !

    1. Diane Kelly says:

I laughed out loud at that, Paulette! And I love puppy breath, too! (Does that make us weird?)

  2. The firefighter is hunky, but puppies are hard to resist!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Yep, that black and white face is too cute to say no to!

  3. Heidi Endicott says:

In my present life, I’d vote for the puppy. However, if both showed up at the door, I wouldn’t shoo them away! 😃

  4. Naomi Sifuentes says:

The pup! I can worry about the guy later. 😊

  5. lisa says:

Dalmatians are so cute, but we’ve never had one of that breed.

    1. Diane Kelly says:

We have a Dalmatian mix and she’s a sweetheart. I think the other half of her is American bull terrier (like the Target dog). She has some weird habits – like eating cardboard and paper – but she’s very loving and I wouldn’t trade her for anything!

  6. diane says:

I would rather snuggle with the adorable Dalmation puppy because the dog gives unconditional love and never expects anything in return.

    1. Diane Kelly says:

And you don’t have to wash the dog’s socks and underwear, either. ha ha!

  7. Ginny Phillips says:

Well – am a married dog lover but it does not mean I can cuddle with the dog and ogle the firefighter!!!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Now you’re talking! That’s exactly what I’d do, too!

  8. Binnie Syril Braunstein says:

Call me crazy – but I’d much rather snuggle up with the dog – especially if the dog is the adorable cutie eon the cover. I had a dalmatian for 10 years. I was her 4th owner – and I wouldn’t have traded her for anything! Her name was Chloe, and everyone who met her was captivated. If she really liked you, she’d throw herself backward in our lap. She got me through some very hard times, particularly since I adopted her after the death of my beloved part-Brittany/part Pointer, Max.She couldn’t replace Max, but she quickly found her very own place in my heart. I still miss her!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

4th owner? Yikes! She’s lucky she found you to live out the rest of her life with someone who would be truly dedicated to her and her well-being. Sounds like she was quite a character! My Dalmatian mix is very friendly, too. She’s a people dog.

  9. Amy says:

Definitely the puppy! Fur love is furever. Though I suppose the fireman could be furry too…

    1. Diane Kelly says:

He’s Italian, so yep, he’s gonna be a furry guy, too. : )

  10. Marjie says:

Well… since I already have a great pup, I suppose I’ll have to snuggle with the hunk. Sad! 😄

    1. Diane Kelly says:

      Thanks for the laugh, Marjie!

  11. Crystal says:

I’d rather snuggle with the Dalmation puppy.

    1. Diane Kelly says:

She’s a cutie, isn’t she? I think I’d like to snuggle with her while watching the firefighter mow my lawn – shirtless, of course.

  12. johnna smith says:

temporarily with the fireman….permanently with the furbaby 😉

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Love it! Keep those options open. : )

  13. Katherine Barrett says:

If I were 40 years younger, it would be the hot, hunky, ripped firefighter! Find me one in their 50’s-60’s and I’ll be all over him! Hey, there may be snow on the roof, but there’s still a fire in the furnace!! However, in this instance, I have to say the cute, cuddly dalmation. Just don’t let my other 2 rescue dogs know I said that!!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

The puppy is pretty irresistible, huh? We’ll keep this secret from your other dogs so they won’t get jealous. : )

  14. PhD said I better pick the dog! LOL

    1. Diane Kelly says:

But the rest of us know what you were really thinking . . . Ha ha!

  15. Carin says:

Um, the hunky fireman. I bet he gives great hugs!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

With his broad shoulders and strong arms, I’d take that bet, too!

  16. phyllis says:

Hi I have been married for 45 yrs to my one and only.. i’d snuggle with the
    puppy!!!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Congratulations! Of course 45 years of marriage doesn’t mean you can’t snuggle with the firefighter in your mind . . . ; )

  17. Lauren says:

What a tough choice! I have to go with the puppy – just look at those adorable eyes!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Puppy eyes are so sweet an innocent. They just say “love me!”

  18. Linda Herold says:

I pick the hunky fireman! I prefer cuddling with cats, not dogs!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

      Cats are great cuddlers, too!

  19. Tracy Haynes says:

Definitely the puppy!!! I think my husband would understand coming home to that a bit easier than the fire fighter! LOL

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Ha ha! Yep, you’d have some explaining to do!

  20. Deborah Darsie says:

Why do I have to pick ONE???

The dog is there all the time and probably ready to cuddle even if the firefighter is unavailable due to work or rest.

    1. Diane Kelly says:

It’s hard to choose, isn’t it, Deborah? ha ha You can have both of you want! : )

  21. Sue Lemieux says:

    The hunk

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Good choice! (of course there’s not a bad one! ha ha)

  22. SHELLEY S. says:

HOW ABOUT BOTH! THANKS FOR THE CHANCE TO WIN!

  23. Gwen Hansen says:

A puppy is unconditional love no matter what.

    1. Diane Kelly says:

True. Dogs are very forgiving of human foibles!

  24. Jen Poffenberger says:

Enforcing the law…the guy would be a distraction.

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Eye on the prize, huh? ha ha

  25. Jillian says:

The puppy definitely…already have a hunk of my own!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Hope your hunk doesn’t get jealous! ; )

  26. Sarah S says:

    Puppy! Sorry man!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

      It’s okay to be indecisive. : )

  27. Sue C says:

The puppy. I love snuggling with my German Shepherd Resi. I love your Paw Enforcement series. Love the characters and how you write from each characters point of view.

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Thanks, Sue! I love writing from the different perspectives, especially Brigit’s. It’s fun to get into a dog’s mind! I have three dogs and it’s amazing how well they communicate with us humans without a single word.

  28. Lisa Moore says:

The puppy! I have a Belgian Malinois that reminds me of Bridgit. I love to snuggle with my Holly girl! Plus, my son is a college student and a firefighter, so I don’t see firefighters in “that way” anymore!! LOL

    1. Diane Kelly says:

Ha ha! I have a college-age son, too, and now when I see hot young men I only think “I’d like to cook him a meal and do his laundry.”

  29. Jaclyn says:

Puppy all the way!! My husband always laughs. We have a king sized bed but me and the pups all pile on together and he sleeps over in no man’s land! In the winter you are always warm!

    1. Diane Kelly says:

We’ve had some “three-dog nights” too! Dogs make great bed warmers. Cats are more targeted. : )

Haha! Our terrier mix and shepherd mix are certainly selective, too. They hear "treat" without fail, but "down" or "no!" don't always register. Raggs is such a cute name!

Reggie certainly looks happy! My own dog, Raggs, has "selective" hearing--and he's not well trained. But. Our dogs are family and we do love them.

Thanks, Barbara! I wish I could write faster, too! My ideas are backing up in my head. : ) I wish my brain had a USB port where I could automatically download the stories from my mind to the page. I'm so glad you enjoyed the book! I'm hard at work on the second one, A Trip with Trouble.
  Barbara
I LOVED getaway with Murder. The second book can't be published soon enough. Can you write any faster? ;-)

Thanks so much, Gerrie! So glad you enjoyed the book, and your kind words put a big smile on my face. The second book in the series, A Trip with Trouble, will release next fall. I'm looking forward to it, too!
