Debut Countdown – 3 Days! Post a Comment for a Chance to Win!

Oct 28 2011, 1:00 am in , , , ,

In Death, Taxes, and a French Manicure, IRS Special Agent Tara Holloway and DEA Agent Christina Marquez pursue a drug-dealing, tax-cheating ice cream man.  As if his crimes weren’t bad enough, the guy wears a mullet!

When I was young it was the seventies and men had “mod” hair.  Remember those mutton-chop sideburns and thick mustaches?  I actually owned a “Mod Hair Ken Doll,” that came with removable sideburns.  Then in the eighties the rage for men was spiky punk-rock hair or two-tone hair with bleached bangs or a ”rat tail,” braid optional.

These styles are laughable now, but at the time we all thought the guys looked cool.

Got a funny men’s hair story to share?  Maybe a hair faux pas you found especially repulsive?  Share it here and you could win a copy of my debut novel, some SWAG, and a $10 Barnes & Noble e-giftcard.  A winner will be chosen at random and announced around 6:00 pm (the drawing will be early today because I’m off to Seattle this evening for the Emerald City Writers Conference).

Thanks for stopping by!

The mullet used to be so popular. I hated those rat tails. I would have liked to carry around a pair of scissors and lopped off those yucky things. But the guys with those weren’t ever ones I wanted to get close enough to where I could cut the tail off.

In the movie Bowfinger, Steve Martin’s character has a hat with a ponytail attached to the back and it’s pretty funny the first time he takes it off.

Have a wonderful time in the Emerald City!!! I love Seattle! It’s one of my favorite places to go in the summer. I’ve never been this time of year. You’ll have to tell us all about it when you get back.
Are you presenting at the Conference?

I am truly enjoying your book! Love that it is so funny and is set in Dallas. Really like that she is a different kind of character(Tara).
Can’t wait for the other ones to come out.
